This garden, currently under construction is set out in a formal english style. When viewed from the house, large beds faming a formal lawn lead the eye to a large outdoor pool, pool house and entertaining area. Building on the existing framework of reclaimed stone around the pool and Belgian brick seating area, we have extended these materials to link these areas together and added a new route to the house by means of a gravel pathway set into the new planting.
The planting will become the star of the show, with dramatic sweeps of ornamental grasses and drifts of perennials punctuated with large clipped elements of hornbeam and Phillyrea angustifolia spheres frame the formal lawns. The flint walls enclosing the garden are to be enhanced with rambling roses and Trachleospermum jasminoides to give scent during the summer evenings.
Coastal Contemporary Garden - East Preston The garden, newly completed is situated close to the sea on the West Sussex coast. The front and rear garden spaces are complete contrast, the front being set out in a theme of curves with a circular lawn and seating area shaded with Parasol pleached Platanus hispanica and surrounded with an informal planting of shrubs, perennial and ornamental grasses.
The rear garden is set out geometrically to be viewed from multiple areas of the house which encloses the space on two sides. The focal point to the rear garden is our bespoke powder coated gazebo with Siberian larch ceiling and green roof, set in planting framed with pleached Quercus Ilex, and parasol pleached Tilia henryana. The main areas of paving are sleek 'Urban Grey' porcelain with the gazebo floor in a darker contrasting colour, set at 45 degrees to give a contrast. Clever use of space allows multiple areas for seating, both under the gazebo, parasol trees and inbuilt into the bespoke powder coated raised beds.
We have exciting projects on the drawing board at present, including a large country garden in a stunning location in the south downs, a manor house garden and a substantial new build overlooking the water south of Chichester. We will be posting updates here shortly.
