This garden is set out in a formal english style. When viewed from the house, large beds frame a formal lawn leading the eye to a large outdoor pool, bespoke pool house and entertaining area with outdoor kitchen. Building on the existing framework of reclaimed stone terrace around the pool and Belgian brick seating area, we have extended these materials to link these areas together and added a new route to the house by means of a gravel pathway set into a completely new planting scheme.
The planting is the star of the show, with dramatic sweeps of ornamental grasses and drifts of perennials punctuated with large clipped elements of hornbeam and Phillyrea angustifolia spheres framing the new formal lawn. The flint walls enclosing the garden are enhanced with rambling roses and Trachleospermum jasminoides to give scent during the summer evenings.
Further work to the rear of the garden includes a fruit cage and kitchen garden with bespoke cedar greenhouse to provide a range of fruits and vegetable for the table throughout the season.
