Planted in 2022, this project was built for the client as a collaboration between by J  E Green Contractors Ltd and ourselves to a design by fellow SGD designer, Ann-Marie Powell MSGD

Built as a modern take on a courtyard garden, the design uses a contemporary porcelain paving from London Stone around a central Cor-Ten steel water table and striking sculpture as a centrepiece.

​The garden leads from various doorways from the house, which surrounds the space on three sides, requiring viewpoints from various angles as well as seating areas to provide entertaining spaces at various times of the day. The planting uses strong and vibrant colours and tones to stand out against the materials used in the house, from the dark timber cladding to the south to the clean modern lines opposite. Building on the planting design we extended the planting to fold around the eastern end of the building, incorporating wood-chip pathways giving various routes through the planting.
